Virginia Lawmaker: School Kids Must Expose Themselves to Prove They’re Boys or Girls

Virginia Republican Delegate Mark Cole says kids can’t use the boys or girls room unless they are of the “correct anatomical sex.”

In other words, boys have to have a penis and girls have to have a vagina. House Bill 663, “Use of restroom facilities; penalty,” which applies not only to children but to men and women as well, defines “anatomical sex” as “the physical condition of being male or female, which is determined by a person’s anatomy.”

How does he plan to prove whether kids are using the correct facilities? Why, force them to show the authorities, obviously. Civil Rights advocate Tim Peacock states the obvious: “adults would be required to inspect children’s genitals before they use the bathroom.”

Generally, telling a child to drop trou to show an adult what they have between their legs is considered illegal. Is Cole going to recommend offering them candy first? That’s all that separates him now from a predator driving down the street.

Leave it to a Republican to want to make child molestation legal. And you don’t just get scolded and sent home if you use the wrong restroom:

Any student who willfully and knowingly violates this section shall be liable for a civil penalty not to exceed $50. Civil penalties assessed under this section shall be paid into the Literary Fund. Any law-enforcement officer may issue a summons regarding a violation of this section.

So are cops going to get to look at your kids’ goodies too, just to make sure the school officials got it right?

According to the text of the bill, “Local school boards shall develop and implement policies that require every school restroom, locker room, or shower room that is designated for use by a specific gender to solely be used by individuals whose anatomical sex matches such gender designation.”

Everyone else is SOL. Now I don’t know about you all, but I don’t like company when I’m in the bathroom. I’m not ashamed to say as a kindergartner that when my school decided that going to the restroom was a “buddy system” I wet my pants instead. And I’d do it again.

Can you image a family wanting to use public restrooms and having to submit to a strip search before they can do so? What sort of madness will the Republican Party descend into next?

Here is the entire text of this excretory piece of legislation:

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding sections numbered 2.2-1147.3 and 22.1-79.7 as follows:
§ 2.2-1147.3. Use of restroom facilities in public buildings; penalty.
A. For the purposes of this section, “anatomical sex” means the physical condition of being male or female, which is determined by a person’s anatomy.
B. The Director of the Department shall develop and implement policies that require every restroom designated for public use in any public building on property that is owned, leased, or controlled by the Commonwealth as defined in § 2.2-1147 and that is designated for use by a specific gender to solely be used by individuals whose anatomical sex matches such gender designation.
C. Any person who willfully and knowingly violates this section shall be liable for a civil penalty not to exceed $50. Civil penalties assessed under this section shall be paid into the Literary Fund. Any law-enforcement officer may issue a summons regarding a violation of this section.
§ 22.1-79.7. Use of restroom facilities; anatomical sex; penalty.
A. For purposes of this section, “anatomical sex” means the physical condition of being male or female, which is determined by a person’s anatomy.
B. Local school boards shall develop and implement policies that require every school restroom, locker room, or shower room that is designated for use by a specific gender to solely be used by individuals whose anatomical sex matches such gender designation. Such policies may also provide that a student may, upon request, be granted access, to the extent reasonable, to a single stall restroom or shower, a unisex bathroom, or controlled individual use of a restroom, locker room, or shower.
C. Any student who willfully and knowingly violates this section shall be liable for a civil penalty not to exceed $50. Civil penalties assessed under this section shall be paid into the Literary Fund. Any law-enforcement officer may issue a summons regarding a violation of this section.

If you ever needed any more evidence that the Republican Party is vile and inhumane, not to say creepy (think sharing ultrasounds with legislators), look no further. The party of small government has decided that it is government’s role force little kids to expose themselves to adults just so they can use the restroom.
