One Sentence Reveals The Total Failure Of Trump/Ryan Meeting

There was one sentence in the joint statement issued by Paul Ryan and Donald Trump that pointed to the absolute failure of their meeting.

The only point that Trump and Ryan agreed on was that they don’t want Hillary Clinton to win in November. That’s it. As usual with Republican statement, Ryan and Trump brought up vague points of agreement but didn’t name any of them.

Contrary to what Republicans are trying to sell, this isn’t a meeting between two opposites. Trump and Ryan aren’t two great minds sitting down to plot the future course of the world. Donald Trump and Paul Ryan are Republicans.

The main point of difference between Ryan and Trump is that Ryan gets his ideas from the fictional works of Ayn Rand, whereas Trump gets his from Fox News.

When the only thing that the Republican nominee and the Republican Speaker of the House are willing to put into writing is that they don’t want the Democrat to win, the meeting was a bust.

The Republican Party remains entirely devoid of new ideas and torn between the stale ideas of the Republican establishment (Ryan), and being driven by a talk radio/Fox News fueled belief system that has no basis in reality (Trump).
