Try Not To Laugh Out Loud As Top Republican Calls Donald Trump A Racial Healer

Try not to laugh out loud as Gov. Mary Fallin (R-OK) calls Donald Trump the candidate of racial healing.

Video:

Jake Tapper asked Gov. Mary Fallin (R-OK) about how Trump can be a racial healer.

Gov. Fallin first tried to dodge the question, “Well, I think the whole nation needs to work together, and certainly, anyone that’s our nominee whether it’s Donald Trump, whether it’s Secretary Clinton, we all need to work together as a nation and understand that people are scared. They want safe homes. They want safe streets. They want safe communities. They don’t want to be profiled. They don’t want to be discriminated again. Everyone wants to be treated equal, with equal justice for all.”

Tapper pointed out that Fallin didn’t answer his question, and asked, “Do you think Donald Trump has campaigned as a racial healer?”

Fallin responded with some laugh out loud level delusion, “I think he is trying to campaign as a racial healer. I think that has been part of his message if you watch what he said this week. He talked about how devastating it was for Dallas. How we need to respect our law enforcement. How we need to pray for those who were killed and injured. I think that is his intent. I trust him with his words, and I think we all need to move towards being compassionate, loving, healing, but also respecting our law enforcement.”

Donald Trump is the candidate of racial healing. This is the same Donald Trump who has called Mexicans rapists, wants to ban Muslims from the Middle East, and just this week defended tweeting an anti-Semitic image that came from neo-Nazis.

Fallin was correct. We should trust Donald Trump’s words, and what his words are telling us is that the presumptive Republican nominee is running a campaign based on racial hate and bigotry.

The idea of Donald Trump as the candidate of racial healing is an insult to the intelligence of the American people. Voters aren’t as dumb as Republicans think they are, which is why trying to repackage Trump as the candidate of racial healing is destined to backfire on the Republican Party.
