The debacle that has been the Trump VP selection process limped to a close today as Donald Trump made it official by tweeting that he has chosen Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana to be his running mate.
Trump tweeted:
I am pleased to announce that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my Vice Presidential running mate. News conference tomorrow at 11:00 A.M.

The news that everybody already knew yesterday was confirmed by the candidate, not with a press release, or a statement, but with a tweet.
Trump made a total mess out of the VP process by throwing a fit after the news leaked that he had chosen Pence. Annoyed by the fact that Indiana Republicans could not keep their mouths closed, Trump initially postponed his announcement.
Now, the GOP nominee will be holding a news conference to unveil a running mate that will have been public knowledge for days.
The Pence fiasco has highlighted everything that is wrong with the Trump campaign.
Trump is constantly behind the news cycle. The Republican nominee lacks the campaign infrastructure to carry out the most basic tasks in an organized way, and everything runs on the personal whims of Donald J. Trump.
What should have been a moment of momentum has landed with a thud. Trump has demonstrated that he isn’t even competent enough to pick a running mate without screwing it up.
