New Ad Shows GOP Leaders Slamming Trump’s Ability To Be Commander-In-Chief

A new ad from Priorities USA isn’t relying on Democrats to make the case against Donald Trump. Instead, it’s a who’s who of Republican leaders, from Mitt Romney to former CIA Director Michael Hayden, all arguing that the Republican nominee is a “clear and present danger” to the United States.

“Mr. Trump’s bombast is already alarming our allies and fueling the enmity of our enemies,” says Mitt Romney in a clip included in the ad.

Hayden calls Trump’s recent comments  “a clear and present danger,” and shortly after, Marco Rubio flashes onscreen to say, “We’re about to turn over the nuclear codes of the United States to an erratic individual.”

Toward the end of the brutal 30-second spot, Trump says, “I love war, in a certain way.

Other Republican leaders featured in the video are former Secretary of State (for Bush and Obama) Robert Gates and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

The advertisement, which is now running in nine battleground states, comes after Trump has made a slew of reckless comments proving, as President Obama said on Tuesday, that he is “woefully unprepared” to be commander-in-chief.

In recent days, the Republican nominee has suggested he wouldn’t defend our NATO allies, attacked Gold Star parents, and said that Russia hasn’t already invaded Crimea. Just today, it was revealed that Trump openly questioned why the United States isn’t allowed to use our nuclear weapons against other countries.

The ad underscores a larger point: Opposition to Trump isn’t a partisan exercise; it’s an act of patriotism.
