George Zimmerman – the man who murdered unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in 2012 – was apparently bragging about killing the teenager at a Florida restaurant before he was slugged in the face by another patron.
According to reporting by The New York Daily News:
The former neighborhood watchman who fatally shot the unarmed teen in 2012 said he was clocked during a dustup at the Gators Riverside restaurant in Sanford around 5:00 p.m. Sunday, according to a police report obtained by the Daily News.
But staffs at the restaurant and witnesses countered the big-mouthed, acquitted murderer’s account.
Zimmerman told cops he was placing a takeout order when he stopped to compliment a diner on his tattoos.
During the conversation, Zimmerman introduced himself as “the guy who killed Trayvon Martin” and “pulled out his identification card to brag,” one witness told police officers.
“I love your tattoos,” Zimmerman said to the diner, according to another witness cited in the police report. “My name is George Zimmerman, you know, that guy who killed Trayvon Martin?”
USA Today reports that the restaurant would not comment “but a spokeswoman said George Zimmerman is ‘not allowed at the restaurant’ and that ‘he’s a troublemaker.'”
Unfortunately, this type of behavior isn’t new for George Zimmerman.
Anyone who spent time following him on social media since he was acquitted knows that this is just par for the course.
On Twitter, he would regularly post racial slurs, one calling President Obama a “baboon,” another saying “black slime”– instead of black lives – doesn’t matter, and he even retweeted an image of Trayvon Martin’s dead body. He also took great pride in promoting the Confederate flag.
Luckily, Zimmerman’s Twitter account was suspended so he no longer has that forum to spew his hatred.
That didn’t stop him from heading to a local eatery and boasting about murdering an unarmed teenage boy. What he didn’t expect was for someone to finally punch back.
