Donald Trump’s campaign is responding to reports that they have abandoned building the wall by claiming that Trump will build what sounds like a force field along the Southern US border.
CNN’s Jim Acosta tweeted:
Sr. Trump adv: Reports of "virtual wall" are false. Trump determined to build wall, adv says: "It will be an impenetrable physical barrier."

A regular wall isn’t enough for Donald Trump. The Republican nominee is going to build a wall that matches the description of a force field.
This is par for the course for Donald Trump and his campaign. After they get caught in a lie, their first reaction is always to make the falsehood ten times more outrageous. Reports were circulating that Trump was changing his border wall into the same virtual wall policy that George W. Bush tried and failed with during his administration, but instead of repeating their commitment to building a wall, the Trump campaign has to claim that they are building an “impenetrable physical barrier.”
There is no doubt that there is a faction in the Trump campaign that favors building the wall. There is also not a shadow of a doubt that those with a shred of sanity in Trump’s campaign are pushing the virtual wall.
The Trump campaign is at war with itself, and the result is a report that made his presidential campaign sound insane.
