Like the Reality TV Personality He Is, Trump Will Release His Medical Reports on Dr Oz

Last updated on July 17th, 2023 at 09:10 pm

As a losing candidate is wont to do, Donald Trump is trying to use Hillary Clinton’s pneumonia caused overheating against her by declaring that “health” is an issue. So Trump announced on Monday that he will release his medical “numbers” on Dr. Oz.

Trump will release the results of his physical and calls candidate health ‘an issue’ after Clinton incident, Fox News reported Monday morning.

Trump promised to release “very, very specific” details from a physical he had last week. The Republican nominee declared health was suddenly “an issue” after Clinton stumbled on Sunday when she left the 9/11 memorial early due to overheating.

Like the reality TV show personality that he is, Trump will release these “numbers” that he predicts will be “good” because “I feel great” on Dr. Oz’s Thursday show.

“I did pretty much the whole deal, because I think we should, I think we should do that,” Trump said with his usual vague grandiosity on CNBC’s Squawk Box.

Trump has not yet released medical records. He released a bizarre note his doctor wrote in a limo that made sweeping, grandiose claims about Trump’s health and his “positive” test results.

There’s no word on whether Trump will simply announce the “numbers” or will provide actual documents signed by an actual doctor.

Hillary Clinton’s medical letter is online, as are her detailed tax documents.

Trump aides tried very hard to keep the Republican on message during the Clinton stumble episode, with Republican donors begging him to shut up and if he said anything to wish her well. Trump didn’t wish Clinton well on Sunday, perhaps he was being cleverly blocked from Twitter by his campaign.

But Trump did manage to suppress his usual penchant for making someone else’s bad news a great thing for him, saying on Fox and Friends, “Something’s going on, but I just hope she gets well and gets back on the trail.”

The reality TV show personality has long been pushing the idea that Clinton is too “old” and has no stamina, even though he is older than her. Trump has tried to fuel conspiracy theories about Clinton’s health for months. So it’s not a surprise that he’s jumping on her stumble, but it is a surprise that he is suddenly willing to release his own medical reports.

Lost in the coverage of Hillary Clinton’s stumble yesterday, on the anniversary of 9/11, was Donald Trump’s behavior on 9/11. To sum it up, Trump claimed he helped clean up the rubble, this turned out to be false. Trump took $150,000 in 9/11 recovery funds for small businesses from the government, and when asked what he used it for, he said he helped people but this, too, turned out to be false. Donald Trump spent the day of 9/11 on a radio show bragging that his building was now the tallest since the twin towers were no longer overshadowing it.

Given these behaviors, it’s no surprise that Trump is jumping on the stumble to make “health” an issue. But it’s welcome none the less, because Donald Trump’s utter lack of transparency thus far should have disqualified him from running. He has yet to release his tax returns.

Donald Trump trying to exploit Hillary Clinton’s stumble should surprise no one, as it’s not like he can win on policy, merit, experience, or judgement. He has to find a way to disqualify her because he can’t qualify himself.
