With a single sentence, President Obama explained why every Republican who is still supporting Donald Trump is unfit to serve the public.

While campaigning for Hillary Clinton in Greensboro, NC, the President said, “You don’t have to be a husband or a father to hear what we heard just a few days ago and say, ‘That’s not right.’ You just have to be a decent human being to say that’s not right. And if it makes you mad, if you say, ‘That’s not somebody I want representing the United States of America,’ you can do something about it, North Carolina.”
President Obama perfectly described the problem that is now confronting every single Republican who is still supporting Donald Trump. Democrats can argue that every Republican who stands with Trump is morally unfit for office.
Obama didn’t talk about the Trump tape as a political issue. The President made the issue one of character and ethics. Any decent human being who listened to the tape should be disgusted by the fact that the Republican nominee was bragging about his ability to get away with sexual assault.
This isn’t about winning an election or politics. It is about being a decent human being, and the type of people the American people want to be representing them in front of their children.
President Obama has been a role model family man throughout his candidacy and presidency. Obama has shown America how a person of decency and good character carries themselves as president.
Anyone who continues to endorse the example that is being set by Trump lacks the basic human decency required to serve the public.
