Rudy Giuliani Emerges As The Favorite To Be Donald Trump’s Secretary Of State

Former New York Mayor and 9/11 exploiter Rudy Giuliani is the favorite to be Donald Trump’s choice for the next Secretary of State, the Associated Press reported on Monday night.

According to the report, which cites a “senior Trump official,” the job is Giuliani’s for the taking.

“The official says there’s no real competition for the job and that it’s the former New York mayor’s if he wants it,” the AP notes.

Giuliani has been one of Trump’s most ardent and unhinged supporters throughout the campaign, often plastering himself all over cable news to defend even the most indefensible Trump comments, including the ‘Access Hollywood’ remarks that surfaced last month.

It’s not clear what qualifies Giuliani to be the nation’s top diplomat besides an undying loyalty to Trump throughout the campaign, as well as a knack for spewing complete nonsense over the years.

In the 2016 campaign alone, the former New York mayor blamed Hillary Clinton for creating ISIS, repeatedly said the Democratic nominee looked unhealthy, and made the ridiculous assertion that there were no terrorist attacks on American soil before President Obama took office.

This is the man that is Donald Trump’s likely choice to be in charge of shaping America’s foreign policy. It would be laughable if it wasn’t so terrifying.

The latest AP report comes on the heels of other reports suggesting that right-wing extremist war hawk John Bolton was Trump’s likely pick to become Secretary of State. This would be a huge departure from the president-elect’s non-interventionist foreign policy rhetoric from the campaign.

Giuliani or Bolton – pick your poison, America.
