Ben Carson doesn’t want to serve in the Trump administration because he feels he has no government experience. Carson ran against Trump to be the Republican nominee for president.
Ben Carson told Donald Trump that he isn’t interested in serving the Trump administration according to business manager and close Ben Carson friend Armstrong Williams, who told The Hill in a phone call, reported by Ben Kamisar.
“Dr. Carson feels he has no government experience, he’s never run a federal agency. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency,” Williams said, after explaining that Carson hadn’t been offered a specific position but it was all open to him.
Ben Carson might not think he has enough government experience to serve in the Trump administration, but he thought he had enough experience to actually be president. It’s likely that the real issue is Ben Carson is politically smarter than he appeared at times, and thus he knows a corrupt circus when he sees it — and he wants nothing to do with it.
Carson is smart enough to avoid the Trump administration, which makes Carson more fit for public service than most of Trump’s nominees.
