“And we need Attorney General Jeff Sessions – who should have never been confirmed in the first place – to resign. We need it now,” Senator Elizabeth Warren tweeted Wednesday night after a report that Jeff Sessions lied under oath when he said he had no contacts with Russia as a member of the Trump campaign.

Warren is joined by Democratic Senators Amy Klobuchar (MN), Jeanne Shaheen (NH), and Intelligence Committee Member Ron Wyden (OR) in calling for Sessions’ resignation, and in the House, Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (CA).
Warren called for a special prosecutor:
We need a special prosecutor totally independent of the AG. We need a real, bipartisan, transparent Congressional investigation into Russia.

She mocked Trump’s claims that the Russia story is “fake news”:
This is not normal. This is not fake news. This is a very real & serious threat to the national security of the United States.

Here’s President Trump claiming the Russia scandal that already took down his National Security Adviser is fake news:
Russia talk is FAKE NEWS put out by the Dems, and played up by the media, in order to mask the big election defeat and the illegal leaks!

Warren called Sessions as AG investigating the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia a farce:
Now Jeff Sessions is AG – the final say on the law enforcement investigation into ties between the Trump campaign & Russia? What a farce.
— Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) March 2, 2017
Warren pointed out that the question wasn’t exactly tricky:
Jeff Sessions answered “No.” Turns out he met with the Russian Ambassador. Two months before the election.

It's a simple q: "Have you been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government about the 2016 election?"
— Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) March 2, 2017
Yes, the “law and order” President is surrounded by lawless, ethics violating people for some reason. He seems to have picked on as his top prosecutor as well.
Senator Warren is not impressed.
