Panic On The Right As Rachel Maddow Clobbers Fox News For A Second Straight Week

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow clobbered Fox News for the second straight week, as Maddow drew 756,000 younger viewers to Fox News’s 604,000 viewers age 25-54.

According to a press release provided to PoliticusUSA by MSNBC, “The Rachel Maddow Show averaged 2.91 million total viewers and 756,000 A25-54 viewers last week (vs. CNN’s 1.2 million total viewers and 420,000 viewers A25-54, and FOX News’ 2.94 million total viewers and 604,000 viewers A25-54). This is the program’s best week ever in total viewers and the best week in A25-54 since October 27, 2008. Compared to the week of March 6, “The Rachel Maddow Show” was up +11% in total viewers and +21% in A25-54. Among all cable and broadcast networks, “The Rachel Maddow Show” ranked in the top 10 in the time period every day last week – finishing in the top 10 for 21 out of the previous 26 days.”

As Trumpcare sinks, and the president is mired in a double scandal of making bogus wiretapping claims against Obama, and numerous investigations into his campaign’s connections to Russia, something is happening in the world of cable news.

The conservative and Trump supporting Fox News network is sliding while MSNBC led by progressive host Rachel Maddow is surging. If one believes in cable news ratings as an indication of political energy, Republicans should be very concerned. MSNBC is surging across the board as it appears anti-Trump viewers are turning into the network for their news.

Interestingly, this ratings growth came after the network moved away from liberal hosts and towards a harder news format in their daytime lineup, which features interviews with more Republican members of Congress, but it Maddow’s show that is leading the charge.

In the fact-free era of the Trump presidency, Rachel Maddow is perfectly positioned to deliver truth and facts to a country that is being starved of both by Donald Trump.

The left is active and engaged, and if who is watching television means anything, the political climate looks to be turning against Republicans.
