Democrats Have The Proof They Need For Impeachment As Trump Fired Comey Over Russia

It is being reported that Trump fired FBI Director James Comey because he refused to pledge his loyalty to Trump and he accelerated the Russia investigation. If Trump fired Comey for investigating the Russia scandal, the president has committed an impeachable offense.

CNN reported:

There are two reasons why President Donald Trump fired James Comey, according to a source close to the now-former FBI director:

1). Comey never provided the President with any assurance of personal loyalty.

2). The fact that the FBI’s investigation into possible Trump team collusion with Russia in the 2016 election was accelerating.

The fact that Trump requires pledges of personal loyalty from people within the Justice Department is disturbing in its own context, but it is the idea that Trump fired Comey for accelerating the Russia investigation that raises the possibility of obstruction of justice and impeachment.

What is now being discussed is the idea that the current administration committed numerous felonies by firing the FBI Director because he was investigating the president and his campaign.

If this reason for dismissal is true, it means that Democrats have the proof that they would need to call for the impeachment of Trump. The CNN report adds a whole new layer of intrigue to Comey’s potential testimony in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday.

If James Comey testifies that he was fired over the Trump/Russia investigation, Republicans may have no choice but to appoint a special prosecutor, because Trump may have committed the crime that could get him removed from office.
