Trump Finally Admits That “Everybody” Wonders How He Became President: “Sorry, Folks”

As the old saying goes, a broken clock is right at least twice a day. In the case of Donald Trump, there appear to be some instances when he’s willing to say something with a degree of truth.

In an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt, that rare moment occurred when the president admitted that “everybody” wonders why he’s president, and sometimes he is forced to look around and say, “Sorry, folks.”

Holt asked the president, “Do you still have moments where you think, ‘How did I get here?'”

Trump responded, “Everybody does. I think when you become president, it’s very special. When you’re in the White House, it’s very special. … I did, I looked around and said, ‘Sorry, folks, can you believe it’s me?'”

Besides the fact that the president doesn’t appear to know any synonyms for the word “special,” it looks like he unintentionally told the truth. Everybody does, in fact, wonder how he got there, and an apology is the least he could offer.

Holt’s initial question was in reference to Trump’s recent remarks before Republican lawmakers at the White House when he was celebrating the passage of his disastrous health care legislation in the House of Representatives.

In that instance,  Trump openly marveled at the fact that he’s the occupant of the Oval Office, asking the Republicans in attendance, “Can you believe it?”

As time goes on, it’s not just a growing number of Americans asking how in the world this unhinged individual became the commander-in-chief, it looks like Trump, too, is wondering how this happened.
