Mike Pence Just Lawyered Up As The Vice President Also Has Huge Russia Problems

The news that Vice President Mike Pence has hired a private lawyer to represent him is a sign that Pence may go down with Trump for the Russia scandal.

CNN reported:

Pence’s communications director Jarrod Agen said in a statement: “I can confirm that the vice president has retained Richard Cullen of McGuire Woods to assist him in responding to inquiries by the special counsel. The vice president is focused entirely on his duties and promoting the President’s agenda and looks forward to a swift conclusion of this matter.”

Trump’s practice of overlap between his campaign and his administration has put Pence right in the middle of the Russia scandal. It was Pence who was in charge of the transition and made Mike Flynn national security adviser. It is Pence who has told numerous lies throughout this investigation. The one common link between many of the threads in the Russia scandal is Mike Pence.

As House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Rep. Adam Schiff explained in May, “If this is accurate, what it says about the transition team and the President is that they were less concerned about whether Mike Flynn had a deep conflict of interest, may have violated reporting requirements or may be acting as an agent of a foreign power than they were having the guy that they wanted to have who was a personal friend apparently of the president. This is distressing at a number of levels, but I think what it underscores for the public, I think if they thought this was just a paperwork question. His failure to disclose that the was a lobbyist or register. They can now see the real world import, because if these reports are accurate and Mike Flynn was helping to make decisions even during the transition period affecting our approach to the war in Syria about we should arm the Kurds, and he’s being paid by Turkey. You can see the real world impact of this conflict of interest and this failure to disclose, and of course, it’s worse if he did disclose it, and the White House brought him on none the less.â€

Mike Pence has lied about everything from Mike Flynn to James Comey. The Vice President is far from clean in this scandal, and his lawyering up demonstrates, Pence has his own serious Russia problems.
