Responding to the sad news that John McCain has been diagnosed with brain cancer, former President Barack Obama posted a touching tweet on Wednesday, calling the Arizona senator “one of the bravest fighters” he knows.
Obama’s social media post reminded the country just how classy he is, especially when it matters most.
Tweet:
John McCain is an American hero & one of the bravest fighters I’ve ever known. Cancer doesn’t know what it’s up against. Give it hell, John.

The news about John McCain gave members of both parties a chance to do something they often do very little of these days – put politics aside and come together in agreement on something.
In this case, Americans of all political stripes are pulling for the Arizona senator and former Republican nominee as he goes through what will be a very difficult battle with brain cancer.
The former president reminded us of that, sometimes, we should put politics aside. In doing so, Obama made the country miss him even more than we already did.
