It probably didn’t take long for Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary, Tom Price, to regret his decision to participate in Wednesday night’s festivities in Washington, D.C.
At a Nationals game, Price reportedly received a not-so-warm reception as fans booed him during the first pitch, which he threw out.
Some tweets describing Price’s humiliation at the ball field:
Typically, an HHS secretary isn’t much of a household name, but in the age of Trump, Americans are paying attention, and they know what Price has been up to over the past six months.
The Trump cabinet member has been central to the ongoing effort by the White House and Republicans to repeal the Affordable Care Act and kick more than 20 million Americans off their health insurance plans.
When faced with criticism of the health care bills they’ve proposed, Price simply said the people didn’t understand the legislation.
Unfortunately for Price and his boss, Americans have understood all too well what the administration has been trying to pull past them, and that’s why their efforts have failed so miserably.
It’s probably not a good idea to appear in public settings like this when you spent the year trying to eliminate health coverage for millions of people.
