Special Counsel Robert Mueller wants to interview former Trump chief of staff and RNC chairman Reince Priebus about the Russia scandal and the firing of James Comey.

Mr. Mueller has expressed interest in speaking with other administration officials, including members of the communications team. But Mr. Trump’s allies are particularly concerned about Mr. Mueller’s interest in talking to Mr. Priebus, a former chairman of the Republican National Committee who worked closely with Mr. Trump during the presidential campaign. Mr. Trump’s confidants at the White House say Mr. Trump was never fully convinced that Mr. Priebus would be loyal to him.
Trump has always had the same reasoning for courting and not calling out right wing extremists like those responsible for the violence in Charlottesville. Donald Trump needs the threat of extremists who will take to the streets to defend him if calls grow for impeachment. Trump used the threat of violence at the Republican convention to get the delegates into line, and it wouldn’t be shocking if his hardcore supporters threatened violence if Trump impeachment becomes a reality.
The obstruction of justice investigation is getting closer to Trump, and Priebus is the link that could turn the Russia scandal into a Republican Party scandal. The wheels of justice continue to turn, as the scandal that could take down a president could be expanding to take out an entire political party.
