‘The End Is Near’: Co-Author Of ‘Art Of The Deal’ Predicts That Trump Is About To Resign

Donald Trump’s resignation is imminent, at least according to the co-author of the president’s best-selling book “Art of the Deal,” who said on Wednesday that “the end is near” for the current occupant of the Oval Office.

According to Tony Schwartz, who posted a pair of tweets earlier this week, “the circle is closing at blinding speed” on Trump’s presidency, particularly in the wake of Charlottesville.

Schwartz’s comments come as Trump has become increasingly isolated over the past week due to his response to the events in Charlottesville.

Following the racially driven violence there, Trump has refused to make a strong condemnation of white supremacists and Nazis. He even expressed support for those marching in the alt-right Charlottesville rally, calling some of them “very fine people.”

Trump’s recent rhetoric hasn’t just alienated those who already opposed him; even those inside the White House have been alarmed by his behavior. There were some rumblings today that top economic adviser Gary Cohn may even resign over the president’s recent conduct.

Outside of the administration, key members of Trump’s own party are also beginning to speak out.

Key Republican Sen. Bob Corker, an early supporter of Trump during the campaign, questioned Trump’s competence and stability on Thursday, an ominous sign for the White House as it echoes what many Democrats have been saying is grounds to remove this president from office.

“The President has not yet been able to demonstrate the stability nor some of the competence that he needs to demonstrate in order to be successful,” Corker said.

Add these recent developments to what was already a failing administration, buried in the Russia scandal and its own incompetence, and Schwartz may be right: The end may very well be near for Donald Trump’s presidency.

Correction: An earlier version of this post stated that Schwartz’s tweets were posted on Thursday instead of Wednesday.
