As Texans beg to be rescued, Donald Trump is plugging the book of one of his supporters.
Here are some examples of people reaching out and asking to be rescued:

They'd been walking for three hours after escaping their dangerously flooded house. They called 911 but no one came. "None of us can swim." https://t.co/0b0QAIKJPL

Besides making claims that everything is going great, Trump tweeted a book recommendation:
A great book by a great guy, highly recommended! https://t.co/3jbDDN8YmJ

If you happen to need something to do while trying not to drown in the floodwaters, read this book. The White House is trying to hard to spin Trump’s response to the hurricane as a great moment in presidential leadership, but the truth slips out with every off topic Trump tweet. A man who no knowledge or interest in policy and the attention span of fruit fly is not going to be a great leader during a days long natural disaster.
Any other president would have been pilloried by the press and opponents for getting so far off topic as Americans are fighting for their lives, but Trump has lowered the bar so much that plugging the book of a supporter during some of the worst flooding in US history doesn’t merit a mention in the mainstream press.
The American people can’t allow Trump’s behavior to be normalized, as his unpresidential conduct reveals a man who is unfit for office.
