In a ham-handed and amateur effort to smear the witness, Donald Trump is trying to discredit potential obstruction of justice charges against him by attacking former FBI Director James Comey.
Trump tweeted:
Wow, looks like James Comey exonerated Hillary Clinton long before the investigation was over…and so much more. A rigged system!

Trump’s tweet was a response to Wall Street Journal report about two memos his attorneys filed with Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Trump’s lawyers tried to discredit Comey by calling him an unreliable witness who is prone to exaggeration.
The President is worried about being impeached for obstructing justice. For someone who spent months claiming that there was nothing to the Russia investigation, Donald Trump spends a lot of time and energy trying to discredit the investigation and the witnesses. Never in the history of the country has the United States been able to watch a president come unglued in real time on social media.
Attempts to discredit the witness and claims that the process is rigged against them are the last refuges of the cornered and guilty. James Comey is not a Hillary Clinton supporter. There is no conspiracy to get Trump, but there is a mountain of evidence of corrupt behavior and an effort to cover-up the corruption from inside the Oval Office.
Trump is more than a bad president. He is also an inept criminal.
