Is Trump trying to elect a Democratic Congress? The question sounds silly until one considers how petty Trump can be. If he is upset at both McConnell and Ryan, he could be looking to get even by costing them their jobs. Trump would also benefit from a Democratic Congress because it would give him and his party a common enemy to rally against. The bottom line is that Democrats now can hold Republican feet to the fire on DACA, health care, and a wide variety of other issues. Democrats are empowered and can now set the stage for victory in 2016 by forcing votes on issues that Republicans don’t want to go near.
