Trump is dealing with Democrats because he is mad at Ryan and McConnell. Democrats in Congress have figured this out and are using Trump as a weapon to divide the Republican Party.
Trump’s DACA reversal provoked outrage among his far right supporters:
Rep. Steve King (R-IA):
Trump tried to put the fire out with some tweets:
Things went off the rails as Trump started quoting the Democratic position on DACA:
What is happening here is that Schumer and Pelosi have figured out Trump. Republicans don’t respect him. Congressional Republicans don’t fear him, so Trump out of spite is cozying up to Democrats to get the attention that he is being denied by his own party. Trump is unstable and driven by impulse. He has never forgiven McConnell and Ryan for not passing major legislation. More so, he is outraged by stories about the lack of respect and fear he inspires in Congressional Republicans.
Trump is ripping his own party apart because he would rather make deals and be loved that fail with Congressional Republicans who don’t respect him. Trump is looking out of himself. He doesn’t care if Republicans lose Congress as long as he wins reelection in 2020.
Democrats have figured out how to take Trump’s instability and use it as a weapon to divide and conqueror the GOP. As Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell fade into the background, the growing powers in Congress are Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
