MSNBC’s Joy Reid laid waste to the new Republican plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act on Saturday, saying she is baffled by GOP senators who think the devastating piece of legislation is a good political strategy.
Reid laid out just how disastrous the new Graham-Cassidy health care plan would be for health care in America.

Reid used a damning list of facts to shut down the Republican plan:
It repeals all the subsidies that people are currently getting to help them buy insurance in the private, in the individual market. It ends the Medicaid expansion. It has these vast transfers of spending with block grants that will extract money from big blue states like New York and give it to red states who didn’t expand Medicaid. It would overall cut Medicaid. It would eliminate the exchanges on the individual market, and it would allow insurance companies to charge higher premiums for people with preexisting conditions, essentially going back to the status quo where insurance companies could gouge you if you had a preexisting condition. I don’t really understand the politics of Republicans wanting to do that.
As Republicans desperately try to pass some type of legislation by the end of September, it’s becoming clear that their latest version of Obamacare repeal legislation is just as dangerous as those that came before it.
As I noted Thursday, Republicans are now rounding up votes for the measure, which would kick 32 million Americans off their health insurance plans. They only need 50 votes to bass the bill.
Like a villain in a horror movie that appears one last time to wreak havoc, Republicans are again making one last attempt to inflict pain on millions.
But the more light that is shed on this latest plan, the more the American people will speak out against it – and the more likely it is that the Republican effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act will die for good.
