Trump Disgracefully Brags To The UN That He Owns A Building Across The Street

Donald Trump’s first words as president to the UN were to brag that he owns a building across the street and that it was a successful project.

Video:

Trump said, “I actually saw great potential right across the street, to be honest with you, and it was only for the reason that the United Nations was here that it turned to be such a successful project.”

Would Trump be so happy to be at the UN if the project had failed?

Trump’s comment revealed that he didn’t view the UN as an institution of global importance, but that he sees the UN just as he sees everything else. The UN is another opportunity to make money and self-promote. Trump has turned the presidency into a PR machine for the Trump brand. The President can’t see the importance of governing and international cooperation. Being president has given Trump a bigger stage to make more money and sell himself.

It doesn’t take a genius to understand that developing a project near the United Nations is a good path to success, but Trump is obsessed with trying to show the world how smart and successful he is.

Donald Trump can’t measure up as a president, so he compensates by bragging about his business. No one at the UN cares about what building projects Trump is involved with or where they are. The United States is supposed to lead the world, but Trump is only interested in himself.
