It’s President Donald Trump V Majority of the country.

For Trump voters, the Paris climate agreement, Iran deal, and Obamacare are just another way of saying Obama, so it’s no wonder Trump, who lacks any clear policy positions other than doing what he’s told at the moment by whomever he’s decided to listen to for the moment, is so against them. Trump has had it out for Obama since he first went searching for Obama’s birth certificate and refused to believe it when it was produced.
On Obamacare, Trump did exactly what the majority of the country did not want when he announced that he would not continue cost-sharing reduction payments for Obamacare, a law that is more popular this month than it was last month, with 51% having a favorable view of the law according to a new Kaiser health care poll.
The Iran deal is also something most people wanted to keep, because no one fancies a nuclear war. In April, a Morning Consult/POLITICO poll showed 56% of registered voters said they supported the deal.
Less than one-third of Americans supported Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, according to a Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll, and only 18% of respondents agreed with Trump’s justification that exiting the agreement would help the U.S. economy.
President Obama has a 63% approval rating, according to a Gallup poll published in June. The Hill observed, “Obama’s favorability remains high among all major demographic groups, including men, women and all age categories.”
Trump himself is at an average of about 38%, which unless you work for Donald Trump, is less than 63%, 56%, and yes, even 51%. Even “Obama/Trump” voters – voters who supported Barack Obama in 2012 and Trump in 2016 – expressed the most regret over their vote and are particularly dissatisfied with Trump, in a 2017 Views of the Electorate Research (VOTER) Survey.
America is embracing Obama and the policies that represent him and his approach to governing, while trouncing Trump.
