‘Give It Up’: Elizabeth Warren Tells Trump His Racist ‘Pocahontas’ Attacks Won’t Shut Her Up

Just about every time Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren stands up to Donald Trump, he takes to Twitter to throw a tantrum, often referring to the Senator as “Pocahontas.”

In an interview scheduled to air Monday night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Warren told Colbert that Trump’s racial slurs aren’t going to shut her up.

First, Warren and Colbert lamented about how long it feels like Trump has been in office, despite the fact that he was only sworn in at the beginning of this year.

“How long has he been president?” Warren asked. “There was dog years, now there are Trump years. Boy, it’s gonna be hard.”

Colbert quipped: “Usually the presidency ages him. We’re the ones getting older very quickly.”

Then he showed Warren this tweet from Trump in which the president essentially said he agreed with Warren’s recent comment that the DNC rigged the 2016 primary in favor of Hillary Clinton:

Warren quickly shot back at Trump’s use of a racial slur to attack her:

Donald Trump thinks if he’s going to start every one of these tweets to me with some kind of racist slur here, that he’s going to shut me up. It didn’t work in the past, it’s not going to work in the future. Give it up. Not gonna work!

Warren’s initial “rigging” comments that Trump referred to in his tweet are definitely arguable as the much-maligned agreement between Hillary Clinton and the DNC applied only to the general election, not the primary race.

But questionable claim aside, Elizabeth Warren is unmatched when it comes to getting under Donald Trump’s very thin skin. The more this president lashes out at her using a childish and racist nickname, the less likely it is that she’s going to sit down and shut up, as the president wishes she would.

With 2020 on the horizon and Warren firmly on the top tier of potential Democratic nominees, Trump should understand that the more he talks about and attacks the Massachusetts Senator, the more he elevates her.

Some advice for Donald Trump: Be nice to Elizabeth Warren; she could soon have your job.
