Trump Falls Flat On His Face By Attacking The Wrong Theresa May On Twitter

Donald Trump tried to attack the British Prime Minister on Wednesday, but he fell flat on his face by directing his Twitter attack at the wrong Theresa May.

In his initial tweet, Trump responded to May’s earlier criticism – but he used the wrong Twitter handle when addressing her.

A short time later, the president posted a new tweet, directing it at the correct Theresa May.

Trump’s childish attack on the British PM comes after May criticized the president for retweeting unverified anti-Muslim propaganda videos posted by Britain First, a right-wing, extremist party in the UK.

Through a spokesperson, May said, “It is wrong for the president to have done this.”

“Britain First seeks to divide communities through their use of hateful narratives which peddle lies and stoke tension,” the statement continued. “They cause anxiety to law-abiding people. British people overwhelmingly reject the prejudiced rhetoric of the far-right which is the antithesis of the values that this country represents: decency, tolerance and respect.”

Instead of taking notes from May’s inclusive, appropriate response to this anti-Muslim propaganda, the president doubled down and decided to attack her – the prime minister of one of America’s partners.

This petty attack on one of our closest allies was embarrassing enough. But he solidified his image as the laughingstock of the world by inadvertently attacking a private citizen instead.
