MSNBC’s Chris Hayes slammed GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday for not allowing Doug Jones to weigh in on the Republican tax scam currently being rammed through Congress.

In 2010, McConnell had a vastly different position on how to handle the aftermath of special elections, particularly as it pertained to major legislation currently working its way through Congress:
It’s been a long time, a very long time, since the people of Massachusetts sent a Republican to the senate. The voters have spoken. They want a course correction. We should listen to them. We need to move in a new direction, a dramatically new direction.
McConnell had a change of heart since then, of course, but he should refer back to this video to give himself a refresher on how he should be reacting to last night’s stunning results in Alabama.
Everything he spewed on the Senate floor in 2010 was true. He would just need to exchange Massachusetts with Alabama, and he would be spot on. When it comes to a major piece of legislation like tax reform, which will negatively impact millions of Americans, the voters of Alabama deserve to have their newly elected Democratic Senator weigh in.
As Mitch McConnell said in 2010, “The voters have spoken. They want a course correction. We should listen to them.”
