Trump Called Rupert Murdoch In A Panic To Make Sure That He Wasn’t Selling Fox News

Trump got on the phone and called Rupert Murdoch after he heard about Disney buying 21st Century Fox to make sure that his state media network, Fox News, was not also being sold.

Gabriel Sherman of Vanity Fair reported:

Trump had to make sure that Fox News wasn’t being sold because it is his favorite television network. This story adds credibility to the report that Trump was meddling in the AT&T/Time Warner deal to try to force the sale of CNN to Rupert Murdoch. Trump knows that he can’t afford to lose Fox News. Without Fox’s consistent stream of pro-Trump propaganda, the President’s approval rating would likely fall into the teens.

The President Of The United States should be worried about so many other things besides whether or not his favorite cable news network is going to be sold. The nation has real problems, and Trump is sitting around worrying about whether or not Sean Hannity is still going to be on at 9 PM to sing his praises.

Trump is using the presidency to undermine and meddle in the media in very dangerous ways. The President shouldn’t have a favorite news network, and he shouldn’t be making sure that it stays on the air.
