Trump’s Approval Rating Drops As Republican Tax Cuts Pass Congress

The latest Gallup Daily Trump Job Approval tracking poll finds that Trump’s approval rating dropped by a point as Republicans were passing their tax cut bill in Congress.

Here is the chart via Gallup:

Trump got a victory on a tax cut that only the wealthy and corporations wanted. The American people already understand that they aren’t getting their fair share of the Republican tax cut bill. Calling a tax cut a middle-class tax cut doesn’t make it so.

No one is fooled. People aren’t buying what the Republicans are selling, and if they are counting on the tax cuts to boost Trump’s or their own popularity, one suspects that they are about to be very disappointed.

Everyone outside of the Republican Party already knew that cutting taxes for the rich was unpopular. Corruption and greed are never popular with voters, and that is exactly what the Republicans have given to the American people. Trump’s party wrote a tax cut for the wealthiest Americans and corporations behind closed doors and rushed it through Congress in the hope that no one would notice who benefitted from the bill.

The American people more than noticed. They are outraged and ready to act against an unpopular president and his majority in Congress.
