MSNBC tore into Trump for only holding one press conference during his entire time as president.

MSNBC then showed a graphic that compared Trump’s one press conference to other recent presidents.
Tur added, “It’s laughable, Chris. The president can’t stand in front of the press and take questions from the press. Other presidents — I mean, he is accessible in the Oval Office, he’s accessible in these gaggles, he’s accessible when you shout questions to him on the white house lawn, but these topics he wants to avoid, he has not done. That’s a level of transparency if you want to argue it, but it’s not true transparency.”
The MSNBC reporters focused on transparency, but there is another problem with Trump’s behavior.
The President is also dodging accountability. He never has to stand in front of reporters and answer for his tweets and lies. He tweets in the morning, and then sends Sarah Huckabee Sanders out to offer some absurd and unbelievable spin later in the afternoon.
Donald Trump never stands in front of a microphone alone in front of a room full of reporters to answer their live questions for an hour or two. Everything is meant to minimize Trump’s interactions with objective journalists.
Trump is dodging accountability to the American people, and that is the biggest danger of all behind his refusal to hold press conferences.
