In the latest sign that Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s election meddling last year, a new report reveals that the probe is now looking into Donald Trump’s data operation in key swing states.
According to Yahoo News, the new angle in the investigation shows that “the witch hunt narrative may have outlived its usefulness” for Trump defenders.
More from the report:
In just the last few weeks, his prosecutors have begun questioning Republican National Committee staffers about the party digital operation that worked with the Trump campaign to target voters in key swing states. They are seeking to determine if the joint effort was related to the activities of Russian trolls and bots aimed at influencing the American electorate, according to two of the sources.

In what is potentially another ominous sign for the White House, the lawyer for Jared Kushner, the president’s son in law and senior adviser who was in charge of the campaign’s digital operation, recently began searching for a crisis public relations firm to handle press inquiries — a step frequently taken by people who believe they may be facing criminal charges.
The White House continues to wishfully say the Mueller investigation is on the verge of concluding, but each new report shows just how wrong they are. The latest aspect of Mueller’s probe – looking into the Trump campaign and RNC’s swing-state data operation – could show how widespread and hands-on the coordination was between Russia and the president’s team.
In any case, Trump’s claim that there was “no collusion” between his campaign and Russia seems to disintegrate more with each passing day.
With indictments and guilty pleas already coming out of the probe and the Trump administration rushing to discredit Mueller and ex-national security adviser Michael Flynn, it’s as if they know what’s coming, even if they won’t admit it publicly.
