Fox News is mounting an insane defense of Trump’s racism that claims that all Americans are racist, and Trump is just a regular guy.

Jesse Watters said on Fox News’ The Five, “I think it’s either fake news. If it’s true, this is how the forgotten men and women in America talk at the bar. This is how trump relates to people. If you are in a bar in Wisconsin you are thinking they are bringing in a bunch of all Salvadorans or Haitians or people from Niger, is it offensive? Of course. But this is how people talk. This is how Trump is. He doesn’t care. He shoots from the hip.”

Fox News responds to Trump’s racism by suggesting that it is fine because that is the way people in Wisconsin talk. Of course, people in Wisconsin don’t talk this way, and immigration to the state has been rising for the past 20 years. It is estimated that Latino immigrants have a purchasing power $6.2 billion in Wisconsin, so perhaphs, the Badger State is not the best example of the sort of flaming racism that Fox News was trying to defend.
Trump won Wisconsin by 22,177 votes. By calling the entire state racist in the name of Trump, Fox News might have flipped Wisconsin back to blue in 2020.
