President Trump’s standards are apparently so low that he feels proud of a new Rasmussen poll showing that less than half of America approves of the job he’s doing, just because the number is now higher than it once was.
“Rasmussen just announced that my approval rating jumped to 49%, a far better number than I had in winning the Election, and higher than certain ‘sacred cows,'” he tweeted on Saturday. “Other Trump polls are way up also. So why does the media refuse to write this? Oh well, someday!”
The fact that this poll has his approval rating at just 49% is even sadder when one considers the fact that Rasmussen is a right-leaning company that uses dubious and unreliable polling methods that typically give Republicans numbers higher than virtually all other pollsters. Its surveys are frequently proven to be inaccurate, especially post-elections. Republicans often tout Rasmussen polls when they need a PR boost.

Literally all other polls currently give Trump approval ratings lower than 49%. Unsurprisingly, Fox News gives Trump the second highest rating of 45%. The lowest rating of 36% comes from an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll; three other polls put Trump below the 40% mark.
