Nancy Pelosi’s record-breaking House floor speech was more than an hour longer than Trump’s average scheduled White House work day.
Video of Pelosi wrapping up her remarks:
According to CBS News, the speech was 8 hours and 7 minutes long:
According to his leaked private schedule, Trump’s workday in the White House runs from 11 AM to 6 PM with breaks in the middle of the day for eating and watching cable news, “Trump’s days in the Oval Office are relatively short – from around 11am to 6pm, then he’s back to the residence. During that time he usually has a meeting or two, but spends a good deal of time making phone calls and watching cable news in the dining room adjoining the Oval. Then he’s back to the residence for more phone calls and more TV.”
Pelosi spent more time today arguing for Dreamers on the House floor than Donald Trump spends during an entire day on his duties as president. There are a lot of disgraceful elements to the Trump presidency, but one of the most insulting is how little effort Trump puts into the job. While Donald Trump is propped up in bed and watching Fox News, Nancy Pelosi is fighting for Dreamers.
Real leadership isn’t what you say, but what you do, and Pelosi just showed Trump what a real leader looks like.
