House Oversight Committee Democrats led by ranking member Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) are giving Trump a major headache by pressing for a credible investigation into the White House security clearance process.
Read the letter from Rep. Cummings to Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC):

Rep. Cummings wrote, “If you had agreed to any of our previous requests for information on these matters, the White House would have been required to answer key questions about why Mr. Porter was denied a final security clearance, who at the White House was aware of this information, and how Mr. Porter was allowed to remain in his position. Instead, because of your multiple refusals, we did not find out about any of these issues until they were reported in the press. In this and many, many other areas, it appears that the Oversight Committee has constructed a wall around the White House in order to prevent any credible oversight whatsoever.”

Rob Porter is the latest example of a problem that goes back to Trump, son in law Jared Kushner and former Trump national security adviser Mike Flynn. There needs to be an investigation into how Jared Kushner got security clearance and why he still has it. The security clearance cover-up at the White House is an important line of investigation that ties into the Russia scandal.
Democrats are causing problems for Trump by continuing to come highlight and come after the security clearance scandal at the White House. Rep. Cummings will also be the House Oversight Committee chairman if Democrats take back the House, and he is giving Republicans a choice. They can investigate the issue with Democrats, or they can wait for Democrats to win back the House and do the investigation themselves.
Either way, trouble is on the horizon for Trump and Jared Kushner.
