Donald Trump is refusing to declassify the Democratic memo debunking the Devin Nunes FBI conspiracy under the pretense of national security, but Trump is the same president who invited the Russians into the Oval Office and gave them classified information.

The White House’s decision to hide their refusal to release the Democratic memo behind national security concerns is especially hypocritical given that Trump himself has jeopardized US national security secrets on numerous occasions.

The President has leaked classified intelligence to the Russians in the Oval Office. As The Washington Post reported at the time, “Trump went on to discuss aspects of the threat that the United States learned only through the espionage capabilities of a key partner. He did not reveal the specific intelligence-gathering method, but he described how the Islamic State was pursuing elements of a specific plot and how much harm such an attack could cause under varying circumstances. Most alarmingly, officials said, Trump revealed the city in the Islamic State’s territory where the U.S. intelligence partner detected the threat.”
The President’s decision has everything to do with keeping his conspiracy theory against the FBI alive. Trump is trying to hide the truth from the American people, and he is using the power of the presidency in a desperate bid to keep the citizens that he is supposed to be serving in the dark.
