Trump claimed that by investigating him, the members of his own party in Congress are helping the Russians.
Trump tweeted:
If it was the GOAL of Russia to create discord, disruption and chaos within the U.S. then, with all of the Committee Hearings, Investigations and Party hatred, they have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. They are laughing their asses off in Moscow. Get smart America!

Trump twisting of Russia’s efforts is a sign of desperation
Trump’s argument makes no sense. The Russians interfered to undermine US democracy and to help Trump win. The discord that they sowed was based on the same discord that the Trump campaign was sowing. Trump is both trying to deny that the Russians helped him and that the best response from America would be to ignore all the crimes that have been committed.
The Congressional investigations are being run by members of his own party. The investigations aren’t some partisan Democratic effort that is based on politics.
The Russians are laughing their asses off over how easily they found a stooge like Trump, molded him into what they wanted, and got him elected. The Russians are laughing, not because of the investigations, but because they boy Trump is so easily manipulated and used.
Trump is desperate, and the strategy of wrapping himself around the flag that he sabotaged is not going to slow the march to impeachment that appears to be inevitable.
