Former Obama Official Destroys Trump’s Claim That He’s Tougher on Russia Than Obama

Jake Sullivan who served as Director of Policy Planning in the Obama administration State Department destroyed Trump’s claim that he is tougher on Russia than Obama.

Sullivan said on MSNBC’s All In With Chris Hayes, “That would be very difficult to do under any circumstances because as you laid out at the top of the program, this president has taken not a single decisive step to either impose real costs on Russia for what they did in 2016 or to try to prevent it from happening again. Despite the fact that his CIA director, his Director of National Intelligence, both said there’s a very strong likelihood that Russia will try to interfere again in 2018. Donald Trump has done literally zero to mobilize the U.S. Government to do something about that. When you compare that to what Barack Obama did in particular mobilizing broad-based sectoral sanctions against the Russians and getting the Europeans on board for that which was no small feat, it’s not in the same ballpark. It’s not in the same sport. It’s not the same activity of any kind. And I think when Sarah Huckabee Sanders was pushed, her argument basically fell apart.”

Sarah Huckabee Sanders did fall apart and lapsed into repeating the same talking points over and over again when she was pushed at the White House daily briefing. Trump isn’t in the same galaxy as Obama on Russia. Trump has done absolutely nothing to punish the Russians for their election meddling. The sanctions that were passed by Congress were done in spite of the president’s opposition.

Obama was a superhero, think President Black Panther, compared to Doormat Donald letting Putin run over him.

Trump has been a joke on Russia, which has only added fuel to the scandal fire.

Trump, Ryan, and McConnell want the Russians to interfere in the 2018 and 2020 elections because the harsh reality is that the Republican Party is now a political outpost of the Kremlin in the United States of America.
