Rep. Maxine Waters Fires Back After Trump’s IQ Attack: ‘This Is A Dishonorable Human Being’

Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters fought back against Donald Trump’s childish attacks on Monday, calling him a “dishonorable human being” and saying she is “not surprised” when he lashes out.

“I am not intimidated by him,” the Democratic representative said. “I’m going keep saying that we need to impeach him.”

Waters took advantage of the opportunity to fight back against Trump’s attacks:

If he thinks he can stop me from talking about ‘Impeach 45’, he’s got another thought coming. I am not intimidated by him. I’m going keep saying that we need to impeach him. And I am so depending on our special counsel, Robert Mueller, to connect the dots so that he can prove the collusion. And, of course, we’ve seen obstruction of justice just playing out before our very eyes. So this is a dishonorable human being. He is a con man. He came to this job as a con man. I really call him Don the con man. So that’s who he is. That’s what we expect. And I’m not surprised at all.

The Democratic congresswoman was clearly unfazed by Trump’s flimsy attacks. Instead, she put the focus where it belongs: the ongoing special counsel investigation into the president’s campaign, which continues to escalate – even as House Republicans end their own probe.

Trump’s attacks don’t work anymore

In the past, Trump’s harsh attacks may have flustered his opponents and caught them off guard – see Jeb Bush – but they have quickly worn thin. Instead of being intimidated by his bullying, those who find themselves in the cross-hairs of a Trump insult now wear it as a badge of honor.

Even the voters who may have found Trump’s unconventional style of political combat appealing during the campaign are likely getting sick of it. Campaign season is over, after all, and the American people want the President of the United States to do his job instead of holding rallies and attacking political opponents.

The problem, of course, is that Trump isn’t mentally or intellectually equipped to do the job he was elected to do. Holding campaign rallies and attacking political opponents is the only tool he has in his chest. The president’s frequent attacks – especially the latest one on the Democratic congresswoman’s intelligence – are simply projections of his own flaws.

As Rep. Waters demonstrated on Monday, this bullying strategy is no longer effective in scaring or silencing his opponents. If anything, it only emboldens Democrats to keep the heat on Trump.
