Biggest Trump Fail Yet As Fox Conspiracy Theorist Won’t Be His Lawyer

Trump had to backtrack on his Joe DiGenova and his wife to represent him because no one checked for potential conflicts of interest before Trump announced the hirings.

The New York Times reported that the new lawyer, Trump announced on Monday is not joining his legal team:

President Trump has decided not to hire two lawyers who were announced last week as new additions to his legal team, leaving him with a shrinking stable of lawyers as the investigation by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, enters an intense phase.

“The president is disappointed that conflicts prevent Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing from joining the president’s special counsel legal team,†Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer, Jay Sekulow, said in a statement on Sunday morning. “However, those conflicts do not prevent them from assisting the president in other legal matters. The president looks forward to working with them.â€

Saying that Trump decided not to hire them is cute, but wrong.

Trump couldn’t DiGenova and his wife because they are already representing other people involved in the investigation.
It is easy to laugh at Trump’s failures, but beneath the failure is a more ominous pattern of behavior. Trump makes decisions without getting information or thinking questions through. He is impulsive, and everything is a kneejerk reaction based on his mood.

A president who doesn’t do the proper due diligence before hiring a lawyer will also not do the work needed before imposing a tariff or launching military action against a foreign country.

Trump can’t find a good lawyer to work for him, which is the good news in a situation where a criminal investigation is closing in and is America’s best chance of getting rid of a dangerous president before 2020.
