Trump told farmers that China was not being nice and that the Chinese were going to hurt them due to his trade war, but they shouldn’t worry, because Trump will make it up to them later.

Before a cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump said, “Our country is on very solid footing. When we do a deal with China, which probably we will. If we don’t, they’ll have to pay pretty high taxes to do business with our country. That’s a possibility. But if we do a deal with China, if during the course of the negotiations they want to hit the farmers because they think that hits me, I wouldn’t say that’s nice, but I tell you, our farmers are great patriots. They understand that they’re doing this for the country. And we’ll make it up to them. In the end, they’re going to be much stronger than they are right now. Don’t forget, farmers have been trending downward over an eight-year period. Their numbers have tended downward, in some cases, significantly. So between nafta and China and all of the things we’re doing, we’re going to make them much better than they’ve ever been. But during this period of time, Sonny Purdue is here, you understand exactly what I’m saying. There will be a little work to be done. But the farmers will be better off than they ever were. It will take a little while to get there, but it could be very quick actually. I say it’s not nice when they hit the farmers specifically because they think that hits me. So with that being said, we’re doing very well on trade and trade deals. I think deals will be made. I think we’re going to make deals with a lot of countries that have taken advantage of us.”
Trump has no clue how he will make up to farmers later. That is up to Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue to figure out. Farmers should do the “patriotic” thing and let Trump screw them over and destroy their businesses so that he can fight a trade war with China.
Trump contradicted himself and made no sense
Trump is going to make a deal with China, but he’s not going to make a deal with China. Trump is going to hurt farmers for a long time, or it is going to be over in a little while. Farmers are dying and trending downward, but they’re not, because Trump is going to make them stronger. Trump made zero sense and contradicted almost every point that he made with the opposite point.
There is no policy here. Trump isn’t making sense. The federal government is failing to get anything done because the president spins like a top on a floor of pointless gibberish.
What’s clear is that the country is heading for a trade war with China, and Trump has no plan to deal with the economic crisis that it will cause.
