Rachel Maddow appeared to be loving every minute of Monday’s bombshell news that Michael Cohen’s third client is Fox News commentator and loyal Donald Trump supporter Sean Hannity.
While some have responded to the revelation by calling on Fox News to fire Hannity, the MSNBC star responded in hilarious disbelief.
“We got the name of Cohen’s third client made public,” Maddow said. “And honestly, don’t even ask me to tell you what it means that it’s Sean Hannity.”

Maddow said:
We got the name of Cohen’s third client made public. And honestly, don’t even ask me to tell you what it means that it’s Sean Hannity. But it’s Sean Hannity from the Fox News Channel. Mr. Hannity has apparently been covering Michael Cohen’s role in this story, in this scandal, for months including the FBI raid on Michael Cohen last week, without ever disclosing that Michael Cohen is his lawyer. Again, don’t even ask me. I have no idea. This is like every day you get up, take a shower, get dressed, you go out to the driveway to start the car. Every day’s the same, you do this every day of your life except today you got in the car, you put the key into the — to start the engine — you put the key into the dashboard, you went to turn it to start the engine like you do every day, and today this time the engine didn’t start and instead terrifying circus music started playing and the hood flew up and clowns and monkeys and elephants flew out instead. Like what? It’s who? You know, sure, go ahead, make sense of that, why don’t you.
Hannity’s downfall comes as Maddow continues to rise
With Monday’s news, Sean Hannity now finds himself in a dire situation. His job could even be at risk.
Meanwhile, Rachel Maddow continues to rise as a dominant force in cable news. As Jason Easley wrote earlier this month, she has risen to the top of the pack in ratings.
Since Trump took office, viewers have flocked to Maddow’s program as she provides the most comprehensive coverage of the ongoing Russia investigation. She also does something Hannity and his network refuse to do: hold the president accountable.
The house of cards on which Trump and Hannity have built their careers appears to be on the verge of collapse, and Maddow is ready to have the last laugh.
