New Clinton Book Has Explosive 2016 Campaign Details

Hillary Clinton just won’t go away, or so it seems.  Seldom has a losing presidential candidate generated so much publicity for so long after the election was over.

Earlier this year, Hillary was the subject of a Trump tweetstorm when he went on a Sunday night rampage, claiming that he was a better president than Clinton, and quoting an article in the New York Post.

About that same time it was announced that Trump had asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to investigate Clinton for corruption.

Then Sarah Huckabee Sanders called the Russia investigation nothing while claiming that Hillary Clinton committed the real collusion, saying in effect that the White House wanted Clinton investigated because she won the popular vote.

Last week, NBC News interviewed House Republican leader Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio about the Russia investigation. He was asked to answer questions about Russia without blaming Hillary, and Jordan couldn’t do it, proving how obsessed the GOP is with Clinton even now.

It seems that Republicans are trying to save themselves by continuing to blame Clinton for every problem that they have brought upon themselves.  In fact, House Republicans recently sent a letter to the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI requesting a criminal investigation of Clinton, Comey, and several other DOJ officials for “potential violations of the law regarding Clinton, Trump investigations.”

Not only are Republicans still harassing Hillary Clinton and blaming her for everything and threatening to “lock her up” but it also recently came out that Facebook was discriminating against her campaign by charging her significantly more money for advertising than they were charging Donald Trump’s campaign, and this may have helped him win.

To bring even more heat on Hillary, this week a new book about her will be released, and advance copies are already creating a lot of controversy.

The book is called “Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling” written by Amy Chozick, the New York Times reporter who covered the Clinton campaigns in both 2008 and in 2016.  It is creating quite a buzz as it reveals many new juicy details about Clinton and the people around her. The release of this book will make sure that Hillary Clinton will be staying in the news for many months ahead.

So far the one Hillary quote from the book that has gotten the most attention is this one.

“I knew it. I knew this would happen to me … They were never going to let me be president.”

This quote is fascinating because of what it reveals about her state of mind and how she views the causes of her unexpected loss to Trump in the 2016 election.  Who is the “They” she is referring to? You have to read the book to find out.

The book also reveals that Clinton came up with labels for Trump’s supporters and creating three different categories to describe them:

  • “Basket #1: The Republicans who hated her and would vote Republican no matter who was the nominee.”
  • “Basket #2: Voters whose jobs and livelihoods had disappeared…”
  • “Basket #3: The Deplorables. This basket includes ‘the racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it.”

Chasing Hillary” also discloses something interesting about Vice President Joe Biden.  It says he really wanted to run for president in 2016, but was afraid of the Clintons.  He said he feared the Clintons would try and “destroy” him.  ‘You guys don’t understand these people,’ he said.

In the book, Chozick blames Hillary for ignoring the media and not recognizing how her opponent manipulated the media: “Trump understood our gluttonous short attention span better than anyone,” she wrote, “but especially better than Hillary.”

Knowing she had a “likability” problem Chozick said Clinton “cut off” staff members who brought it to her attention. “You know, I am getting pretty tired of hearing about how nobody likes me,” she said.

Some people feel that Hillary Clinton was victimized during the 2016 campaign, and this is why she lost.  Other people blame Hillary for her attitudes and attributes, for being over confident, and for running a bad campaign.

The truth probably lies somewhere in between.  You may want to read “Chasing Hillary” and reach your own conclusions.
