Donald Trump: Misogynist In Chief.

Between the recent  “Rudy Can Fail” tour, Donald Trump’s meltdown today in response to a question posed by a reporter (what’re the odds?) and, well, take your pick of any number of recent Trump administration scandals (howyoudoin, Scott Pruitt?) it was easy to miss that the Trump White House snubbed the not-so-recently-crowned WNBA champions, Minnesota Lynx.

Now seems a good time to mention that this is their fourth title in seven seasons, having won in 2011, 2013 and 2015 previously. Is it also a good time to mention that they received congratulatory phone calls from Barack Obama each of those seasons, along with hearty invitations to come celebrate their accomplishment at the White House? Yeah, I think it is, because evidently the p*ssy grabber who hijacked the People’s House doesn’t agree that female athletes deserve the same praise and accolades for their achievements as their male counterparts.

On Wednesday -at the teams’ training camp- Minnesota Lynx coach and General Manager Cheryl Reeve told reporters that -nearly seven months after winning their latest WNBA championship- the team still hasn’t been invited to celebrate at the White House.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Reeve wasn’t shy (and yet, still respectful) when she shared her views on the snub. She said the lack of an invitation for the WNBA champion is a depiction of how the Trump White House sees women.

“It’s hard not to think that gender is playing a role here because of the consistency with which men’s teams are being invited and celebrated,” Reeve said. “I think it reflects the priorities of this particular administration.”

Speaking of that, let’s take a look at which reigning champions have been invited to Trump’s White House:

The 2017 Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, the 2017 World Series winners Houston Astros and the 2017 Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins.

(Fun Fact! After the Golden State Warriors won the NBA championship in 2017, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant didn’t hesitate to make their feelings known about a possible White House celebration. Naturally, the notoriously thin-skinned Trump rescinded the team’s invitation. Instead, the Warriors did this, because #class.)

It doesn’t take a Biologist to see that there’s a definite Y chromosome trend in the teams that received those invitations. Happily, there’s another trend wading in that gene pool: more and more players are declining those invitations on principle (or out of disgust for the lack of principle Trump brazenly displays).

Looking down on Trump from the high road, WNBA President Lisa Borders had this to say to The Washington Post:  “I am disappointed that the White House hasn’t invited our champion Minnesota Lynx; not celebrating the WNBA champions is a missed opportunity for our leaders to learn from these incredible women and athletes who serve as an influence and inspiration to their millions of fans around the world.”

Absolutely… but who ever said Donald Trump and his ilk were interested in learning anything?
