Rachel Maddow Gives America Hope By Exposing How Rosenstein Is Fighting GOP Impeachment

Rachel Maddow ignored all of the Giuliani/Trump noise, and instead focused on the offensive and defensive maneuvers that Rod Rosenstein is using to beat back House Republican efforts to impeach him.

So this is a real fight. This is a real fight. He is taking his stand here. While the president and congressional Republicans are taking aim at him. This is his defense. We should notice that he is doing this in public. In terms of his offense, well, we saw that for the first time last night with this in The New York Times. “A former federal law enforcement official familiar with the department’s views says that Mr. Roseenstein and top FBI officials have come to suspect that some lawmakers are using their oversight authority to gain intelligence about the Mueller investigation so it can be shared with the white house.”

His defense is you’re not going to pressure me into monkey-wrenching this investigation. I’m not going to be extorted. I will not violate my oath. His offense is, and you know what? Your efforts to do that look suspiciously like you in Congress are using your powers as members of Congress to try to obstruct an ongoing FBI investigation. Now, has a member of Congress ever gotten busted for something that serious when it comes to an open law enforcement matter? I’ve learned not to make assumptions about these things.

It is obvious who the members of the House are who are using their oversight powers to get information on the Russia investigation that they are passing along to Trump. They are most specifically, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) and his allies. Nunes is the Trump’s mole in the House. He has made it his professional life’s work to cover-up for Trump and derail the Russia investigation.

Americans who believe in protecting our democracy and who want the truth about the Russia scandal should feel heartened by Rosenstein’s savvy fight.

Rachel Maddow cut through the noise of cable news and showed why she is the host of the fastest growing show on cable. She delivered a story that made her viewers better informed and gave them information that they won’t get anywhere else.
