Russians Were Disappointed With Results From Paying Cohen

The company affiliated with Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg that was run by his cousin Andrew Intrater paid Trump attorney Michael Cohen half a million dollars last year.  And according to informed sources they didn’t get much for their money.

Columbus Nova’s ties to Russia seem pretty extensive, but were partially hidden because it is a U.S company and its CEO Intrater holds dual citizenship with Russia and the U.S..  Still, it is funded by Putin pal Vekselberg, and there is no question that he controls the company and calls the shots.

Details of the relationship between Columbus Nova and Michael Cohen — as well as their connections to President Trump — have not yet been released, although we can assume that Robert Mueller has those details and might make them public at some time in the future.

“Like other firms that hired Cohen for his connections, Columbus Nova ended up disappointed with the fixer. The Columbus Nova sources said Cohen failed to deliver the big fish. “He couldn’t bring in the volume of introductions,” one of the sources recalled. As a result, Intrater, after consulting with Cohen, stopped making payments to Cohen about halfway through the year, the sources said. In their account, it turns out, Cohen was a lousy investment for the firm.”

So far it appears that every company that paid Cohen through his company Essential Consultants believes they were ripped off.  Novartis, AT&T and Korean Aerospace all indicated that Cohen wasn’t able to deliver the results they believed they were paying him for.

Perhaps the reason that Donald Trump has used Michael Cohen so much through the years is that the fixer embodies many of the same traits that made Trump famous.  They both are very skilled at lying and boasting and getting others to believe their particular brand of BS.  And it seems that everyone who bought into Cohen’s lies — just like those who believed Trump’s lies — has ended up being disappointed.
