Trump Hijacks Ceremony For Fallen Peace Officers To Assume His Reelection

Trump told a ceremony for fallen law enforcement officers that he intends to address them another six times, which his way of making a speech honoring fallen public servants about his reelection.

Trump said, “We are honored to have these cherished officers, and we’re honored to have all of you with us today, and it’s my great honor to be here for the second time, and I’ll see you, I guess, about another six times, and then after that, perhaps you’ll have had enough.”

As usual with Trump, the rhetoric doesn’t match the reality. Trump claimed to be standing with law enforcement, but he has been trying to cut federal funding for local police departments to hire more officers since he came into office. Vox reported, “But when it comes to putting that love into policy, Trump may not be as generous. In his 2019 budget plan, the Trump administration proposes a nearly 50 percent cut to the COPS Hiring Program, which helps hire local police officers.”

Trump couldn’t resist making an event honoring fallen heroes about himself

Trump is so insecure that he had to mine for approval from a crowd at an event that is supposed to be non-political. The president is seeking affirmation that he is going to win a second term from any and all sources. While the rest of the speech was read off of the teleprompter as has become Trump’s norm, but Trump knows Mueller is coming for him, so it is like the fantasy that he will win reelection and be loved is his happy place escape from the reality of the Russia investigation bearing down on him.
